Wooden embroidery hoops, what are they, how you use them, what choices you have & how you display them?

 What is Embroidery Hoop?

Embroidery hoops are made by two pieces of wooden panels that can be put together as a single unit and in which we adjust a piece of fabric in stretch position.

So, basically we have one piece of complete wooden frame that is smaller in size and one bigger frame with a screw at top to loose or tight it.

How you use the Embroidery hoop?

You keep the smaller frame at the bottom of the fabric and then put the frame with screw on top of the fabric and fit it on the smaller hoop. Then you start adjusting the fabric in between the hoops with little stretch in all directions. Make sure that the fabric doesn’t have any crease and is equally stretch in all directions. Never stretch the fabric in one direction because then the fabric weave get distorted and your finished embroidered fabric will not fall gracefully or in straight fall direction. Once you are happy with the fabric position in between the frame then carefully tight the screw. This way the fabric remains at the same position while you are working on your craft or other embroidery projects.

Embroidery hoops shapes to have.

Round embroidery hoops are usually the universal choice to do Embroidery, Goldwork, Cross-stitch and Needlepoint craftwork. You can get 3”, 6”, 8”, 10”, 12”, 14”, 16” and 18” frame. I personally prefer size 8” and 10” round wooden frame. Because you can adjust the fabric nicely on these sizes of round frame and you can easily hold them in one hand and can do the embroidery with other hand.

Other shapes that you can have

A: – Oval shape wooden embroidery frame.

B: – Square shape wooden embroidery frame

C: – Triangle shape embroidery frame

The finished embroidery works on above shapes are mostly kept on frames only and are used as wall décor at home and offices by hanging or displaying them in many different creative ways.

Embroidery Hoop Holder to have.

If you are an embroidery beginner or looking for a more comfortable way to do cross stitch, needlepoint embroidery and other craft projects on wooden hoops then you need a hoop holder. Yes, these are heaven’s gift.

You can clasp the frame in between the given wooden panels of this wooden hoop holder and can do work from any angle. Sit on your favorite chair or just comfortable on the floor and adjust the height of hoop holder accordingly. Easily, you can rotate the embroidery frame at 180 degree to check the back of your fabric also.

Embroidery hoops display holder, a must have.

After you finish your art on the fabric panel that is placed in between your favorite shape and size of wooden frame, the question is then how you display it? The solution is made for that. There are these beautiful angle shape wooden stands that works perfectly as hoop display holder. On which you can easily place your finished embroidery hoop.
